The name derives from the aqua vitae made with almonds (mandorle) once sold in a nearby tavern.

Along the street, we discover coats of arms and paterae made of Istrian stone:

and a characteristic well head

At the start of the street, we notice the Santo Stefano bell tower, which leans at just as precarious an angle as the Tower of Pisa:
